Geebung RSL Sub-Branch
Honouring our past. Supporting our veterans. Connecting our community.
For more than 100 years, Geebung RSL has been a place of remembrance, support and connection for Brisbane’s northside community.
Our Sub-Branch brings together veterans, families and the wider community across Geebung, Zillmere, Bald Hills and Aspley. Through veteran support, commemorative services and opportunities to connect, we continue a proud local tradition of care, commemoration and camaraderie.
Our History
From a community memorial to a lasting legacy
Our story began with land gifted by the Gerns family and a memorial built by the community.
Geebung Memorial Hall was constructed by volunteers and officially opened in 1923, honouring the local men who served in the First World War and did not return. It became a meeting place for RSL members and a gathering place for local residents attending ANZAC Day and Armistice Day services.
Over time, the Sub-Branch grew to include Geebung, Zillmere, Bald Hills and Aspley. In 2016, it amalgamated with the Geebung Zillmere RSL Services & Memorial Club to become Geebung Zillmere Bald Hills Aspley (GZBHA) Sub Branch Inc, trading as Geebung RSL.
That history remains at the heart of our club today. We honour those who came before us while continuing to support veterans, their families and the community around us.
